What is PRP Hair Treatment?
The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a concentrated form of your own platelets. The platelets which are rich in bioactive proteins are extracted from your own blood(usually drawn from your arm). Platelets are separated from the blood through centrifuge machine. Later, the PRP is activated and then injected into the scalp in thinning areas through tiny syringes. Thus prp is delivered right at the hair root which is in the miniaturization phase. This results in a rejuvenated hair growth as the hair follicle gets repaired.
How does PRP work in improving hair?
Once the injections are given, the activated platelets secrete an initial burst of growth factors such as the VEGF which stimulates the production of new blood vessels. It also activates the wound healing mechanism through PDF( platelet derived growth factor).TGF B is another growth factor which enables new epidermal and hair cells to develop. Once the initial burst takes place, the platelets synthesize and secrete additional growth factors. This happens for remaining 7 days of their lifespan. After this, white blood cells get attracted to the injection sites and take over the same process for few more days
