What are the signs that a chemical peel might be going wrong?

Watch for excessive burning or stinging during application. If you notice prolonged redness or swelling (beyond 5–7 days), dark patches or scabbing, pus, pain, or unusual discomfort, it is an indication that chemical peel has gone wrong for you. These could be signs of a reaction, infection, or improper application and should be addressed immediately by your dermatologist.
