Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune disease that causes patchy hair loss mostly in scalp but can also occur on other body parts. Outcome of treatment is usually good, specially in limited patches. Steroids are the first line therapy, with intralesional steroid injection being the most effective and easy solution for limited patches. Topical steroids may not be enough.
