Are there any specific skincare products I should avoid before or after laser skin resurfacing?

To prevent irritation and enhance healing after the laser skin resurfacing treatment, dermatologists may ask you to avoid the following: Avoid products containing retinoids 5–7 days before the treatment and 6 weeks after the treatment, or as prescribed by the dermatologist. Avoid AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants, as they can cause excessive peeling and dryness after the treatment. Avoid harsh scrubs or active acne treatments like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid for at least a week after the treatment. Avoid facial or any parlour service in the treated area for about six weeks. Opt for gentle cleansers, hydrating serums, and sunscreen with SPF 50+, which are key for optimal recovery.
