Is there a difference in recovery time between ablative and non-ablative laser treatments?

Yes, recovery time varies significantly between ablative and non-ablative lasers: For ablative Lasers (CO2, Erbium), the downtime is 7–14 days. Redness and swelling may last weeks. The downtime for non-ablative lasers (Fraxel, Nd:YAG, Q-Switched) is minimal to none. One will experience mild redness for 1–3 days.
