I am having atopic dermatitis for the past 4 years. Is it dangerous? Is there any permanent cure for atopic dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis is not a typically dangerous disease, but it can affect someone's quality of life. It is a chronic condition where inflamed, itchy skin can flare up periodically. The primary treatments for atopic dermatitis aim towards preventing these flare-ups, reducing itching, and healing the skin. Often, a combination of steps like using moisturizers, avoiding triggers that exacerbate symptoms (such as certain fabrics, soaps, or environmental factors), and medicines to apply, like topical corticosteroids or immunomodulators to control inflammation. Your dermatologist may also advice lifestyle adjustments like maintaining a consistent skincare routine and identifying and avoiding potential triggers. However, atopic dermatitis does not have a permanent cure. Regular management significantly reduces the frequency and severity of flare-ups and improves the quality of life. New therapies and treatments towards a better and permanent solution are under investigation.
