General Tips To Get Rid Of Papules

Papules are just the beginning of a full-blown pimple and can be brought under control fairly easily. Prevent the formation of papules with the following tips.

(A) Determine Your Skin Type – The first step is to determine your skin type. The primary skin types are normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, and combination skin. This categorization is based on the levels of natural oils produced by your skin. For example, if your skin appears parched and has dry patches, then you possess a dry skin type. An oily skin easily becomes sticky and greasy even after thoroughly cleaning it with a good face wash. Take help from a professional if you have any doubts regarding your skin type.

(B) Stay Hydrated – Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water in a day. Water helps to detoxify the system and prevent papules from cropping up. It eliminates toxins from the body and skin while keeping the skin cells hydrated. Sebum (natural oil) production is regulated and thus, papules can be prevented. Hydration is also important externally and this can be achieved by applying a suitable moisturizer for your skin type.

Pro Tip: Use a gel based moisturizer for oily skin type.

(C) Avoid The Sun – Sun rays can damage your skin cells and produce damaging components called free radicals. These lead to pores being clogged easily. Avoid going out in the sun during the peak hours (from 10 am to 3 pm). When you do step out into the sun, apply a good sunscreen 20 minutes beforehand.

(D) Maintain A Healthy Diet – The skin cells need essential nutrients from the diet to function optimally. When there is a lack of any essential vitamin or mineral, skin problems such as papules can develop. Eat a diet that is full of healthy fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meat. Omega-3 fatty acids are great for keeping the skin nourished and are found in good amounts in nuts and fish.

(E) Be Gentle With Your Skin – It is a common misconception that scrubbing your skin while washing or exfoliating will get rid of the excess oil, comedones and blocked pores. The pressure you put on your skin can damage it to the extent of causing permanent scars. Be gentle with your skin during each step of your skincare routine.

(F) Establish And Maintain A Routine – Maintain a good skin care routine using products that suit your skin type. Pick products that are meant for your skin type and will work towards maintaining the ideal pH balance and keeping sebum production at an optimum level. Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing with exfoliating once or twice a week is the best skin care routine to follow according to experts.

Papules are pimples in their nascent stages and should be treated to prevent acne marks, acne scars, and pus-filled acne in the future. Incorporate the tips suggested while seeking a dermatologist’s advice to remove papules and prevent them.
